Snake Creeps Down is one of the iconic postures most people associate with Tai Chi Chuan. From an appplications standpoint, I’m sure western collegiate and folk grapplers will see many possible techniques within this form. But the most important aspect for most practitioners I believe would be the health benefits of opening the ‘kua’ or groin from doing this posture. It should be noted that in the traditional training all postures were done on both sides, as they are still done in other Chinese internal martial arts such as Xing Yi Quan and Bagua Quan.
